International Registration

Please review this material before starting the registration process.

The Costa Rica Camp registration fee is on a sliding scale from $495 to $895. This includes tenting, all meals, and all program activities. Any money received above and beyond our basic cost will go towards a scholarship fund for lower income individuals and the improvement of this and future camps. We ask you to pay as high on the scale as you can reasonably afford.

We want to offer the opportunity for as many people as possible to attend. For those in financial need, we can make work trade or scholarship arrangements. Please get in touch with us – if you want to be there, we want you there! Let’s figure out what works for you!

To create a New Culture, we aim to include humans in all their diversity, including our smallest members as well. We offer a cooperative children’s program for the young (and young at heart!). Please contact us right away at if you and your children are interested in participating.

The camp fees for children are as follows:
Children under 3 — free
ages 3 to 12 – $375 each
ages 13 to 17 – $495 each

These fees include the cooperative children’s program, tenting, and all meals. Children below the age of 3 are welcome at camp but we cannot accommodate them in the children’s program. Teens may attend most of the adult programs if they choose, or alternative activities will be provided.

We encourage international attendees to arrive in Costa Rica on or before Monday Feb. 18, so that you can travel without rushing from San Jose Airport (SJO, the closest airport to our venue) south to the region where Camp will be held.  This will help you begin to feel into the relaxed vibration of the country. It takes 3.5 to 4 hours to travel from San Jose to Dominical (the nearest town) or San Isidro (the nearest city). We recommend that you plan to stay overnight on Feb. 18 somewhere along the way, and arrive at camp on Feb. 19.

In planning your travel from SJO to the venue, please see our Travel page,, for detailed travel information. Briefly summarized, there is a bus service that runs during the day between SJO and Dominical. There are also car rentals available at the airport and in Dominical. We plan to provide a shuttle between Dominical and the venue at various times on Feb. 19, for a small fee. We are also happy to give you recommendations for taxi services.  You may want to post on the event Facebook page,, to see if others want to share car rentals or other transportation.

Tuesday Feb. 19 will be structured as an arrival day for camp, with light programming and dinner provided that evening. We encourage everyone to arrive onsite after noon and long enough before sundown that you can get properly settled.  Camp will officially start on the morning of Feb. 20. Please do not arrive onsite before Feb. 19 unless you have made other arrangements with us.

We’ll close Camp on Feb. 25 in the early afternoon.  You are welcome to stay through Feb. 26 for a chill, leisurely departure – there is a small additional charge for the extra night and food.  Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to stay on for this day.

A confirmation packet, including contact information, emergency phone numbers, map with directions, and the latest announcements)  will be emailed to all registrants on or before the 1st of February. We will also provide additional information and costs for shuttles between the airport and camp.

Updates and new information about camp will be posted on our Facebook Event page.

We’ll see you at camp!
